Candy Club – February 2025

Hello everyone! This edition of Candy Club is here for an important announcement.

We will start right off with the big story. Our followers on social media have gotten some hints that this is happening, but it’s time for the official news to come out. We are rebranding!

Caramel Comics is turning into Caramel Cocoon Creations!

What all is changing with our rebrand? Honestly, it’s not very much. Our brand name and logo are changing, but you can still expect the same types of artwork and we are still committed to the same values of our business as before.

There is one other new change – we are introducing a brand mascot. Introducing… Butterscotch!

They are a nonbinary Fancy mouse that loves art, cooking, and upcycling things. You can see Butterscotch in upcoming graphics on our blog posts as well as in some of our new merch that will be dropping later this year.

Why are we making these changes? Are the comics going away?

No, the comics are not going away. In fact, we have many comics that shall be released later in the year. More details on that soon!

We wanted to change our main brand to better reflect the types of artwork and products that we sell. While comics are an important part of what we like to make, they are not the only thing that we offer and we do not want to continue to give the wrong impression with our branding.

As for the Caramel Comics brand, it will continue. It will be a separate account under the main Caramel Cocoon Creations brand, but one that combines all of our comics work, both SFW and NSFW. Our comics work will still be shared on our main channels, but the separate account will be a place for fans of just our comics.

What does this mean for our supporters? If you are already subscribed to our newsletter or to any of our active social media accounts, you don’t have to do anything! We will be changing the name and icons of our main accounts to the new Caramel Cocoon Creations branding around March 1st, 2025. If you would like to also follow our new Caramel Comics account, we will be posting another blog post and social media posts with links to all of our accounts.

That’s all the information about the rebrand that we have for now. If there are any other changes, you can be notified here or by following our active social media channels.

We are currently working on so many different things, it would be difficult to describe them all! The main goal of the first half of the year for CCC is to make lots of new smaller products. We are completely redoing our button collection, adding more stickers, and working on some new mini prints.

Around the April-May time, we intend to finally do the full shop update! We will be listing all of our products on both our shop here and our Etsy store.

The second half of the year will be devoted to getting our comics available and introducing some new kinds of merchandise that are made in-house. As much as we love working with our outsource partners, it will be good to get back to more handmade items in our collection.

We have many short comics in the works, but our first solo published volume is a treat. If you are a follower of our NSFW account on social media, then you will have already met our main characters for our first upcoming comic, Tláloak and SPA•RK.

Please look forward to learning much more about them as we get closer to the comic launch!

As a side note, we are keeping a close eye on the political situation as always. Many of the proposed changes will have negative impacts on our business, but that will not stop us from creating things. We just ask for your patience as we navigate the new administrative issues.

We have been incredibly focused on getting ready for our first event of the year, Anime Milwaukee! It will be our third time at this convention and we are excited to be heading back. We will be bringing lots of new items, so we hope anyone that is attending will stop by!

The following weekend, we will be at Nerds at Night in Madison for a fun one-night event. Come stop by if you’re in the area and see all the wonderful local artists!

Currently, our only other event we have been accepted to is Gamehole Con which is all the way in October. Hopefully we will be able to get into some more shows between now and then, but we do not know anything for sure.

As we have so few planned events currently, we will be focusing on making new art and keeping the web stores up-to-date. New event attendances will be announced here and on our socials, so stay tuned!

Thank you so much for reading this far and for all of your support. It’s been an incredibly worrying time with all of the changes happening here in the USA. As a disabled, multiracial artist running a shop that supports two trans people, I appreciate your support now more than ever.

Nothing is going to stop us from creating art or sharing it. We hope you will continue to stay with us and continue to share as much love and joy as possible. See you on the next one!

My thanks –

Rain
